Final Report (I Hope) on Wet Roads and Weekend Rid...
Author Last Post
I received three additional road reports today as follows. Thanks to everyone who contacted me.

Capitola South

From Allen Overstreet:

"We went southwest: out Chaires Cross to St Augustine and Louvenia to Tram. We then heads east on Tram to Limestone and looped back to Tram, then west to Cody Church, then 27 back to Chaires Cross and back to Chaires. 32.8 miles. Hit an inch of water going out on Chaires Cross (gone coming back) and on Tram just west of Limestone Rd.”

In consultation with Allen, I created a RWGPS route that is similar to the route Allen and others followed today.   This may be a good alternate route for the Saturday Chaires ride tomorrow.   The route is in the CCC route library at: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/46190222.  It has an optional rest stop with porta potty at the Wacissa Boat Ramp.

Mahan (Rt 90) East

From Mark Lindsey:

"Route 90 going east of Tally to the Hill Top store is not under water, but there are a lot of small and big limbs and some trees obstructing the bike lane.  In several areas, the washout from the adjacent drives have 2-6" of mud in the bike lane.”

This could be an issue for Jim Mann’s Sunday West Lake Road ride unless riders turn around at New Monticello and Rt 90.  Jim will know what to do.

Natural Bridge

From Ken Schilling:

"In response to a report that there was water over the road (...meaning a possible cancellation of Saturday's TT and Sunday's group ride), I drove Nat'l B'dge from Old Plank to Hwy 59 around 12:15-ish today.  Not only is it completely high-and-dry, it was free of bears and rattlesnakes (...did see a pair of handsome raccoons, though).

It's my understanding that's not the case on Tram.  I was told (...didn't drive there to verify) that the road at the Leon/Jefferson county line is closed to motor vehicles.

Other than that, the weather for the next 2 days should be pretty dadgum nice.  Keep 'em turnin’!"

Glad to see that the Time Trial is a go!
