CCC Rides

Additional Information on Flooding
Author Last Post
Mike Rowe just called me to report that there is now high water on Capitola Rd between Chaires Cross Road west of Baum Road.  We rode that same stretch yesterday morning and it was basically clear.  Apparently the water is continuing to accumulate in places.  I’m not sure where that leaves tomorrow’s Chaires' ride.   One source of information is Google Maps' traffic feature.  Since there is typically no significant traffic in the rural areas of eastern Leon and western Jefferson, if Google maps traffic feature shows red, that probably indicates a problem with the road.  Below is the current report on Capitola between Baum and Chaires Cross Rd.  I don't see much other red in the area, but Google does not report data for the more lightly traveled roads.  Gary Breedlove tells me that he heard that Upper Cody may be wet.  Gary is out riding this morning north of Miccosukee Road and reports that so far the roads in that area, including TS Green are rideable so far.

I have an email into Ken to find out about whether the time trial will be affected as Greg New reported that he saw a report that portions of Natural Bridge Road were flooded within the Park.

I haven’t heard anything about the Bicycle House Ride or the Ride to Eat.  As far as I know those rides are unaffected.  I’m told that that portion of the St. Mark’s Trail north of 98 (which is the portion that both Saturday rides cover) generally tends to be fairly dry but that there could be problems further south on the trail.  But that is unconfirmed.
