Ken has finalized the details for the CCC Spring 2024 10K Time Trial Series as described in his email below.  The event (with full details) is now listed on the CCC calendar for all four Saturdays.  If you would like to participate, please register ASAP so that Ken can assign you a start time and enter your name on the score sheet.  You only need to register for the first day (April 6).  Ken will manually carry that registration forward to the other days.  Here is the registration link:

Howdy all:

Show of hands, please; who’s in favor of having a low-key (“low rent”) event?  Here’s a chance to hopefully have some fun and an opportunity to experience a “sportive” side of cycling.

I’m staging a 4-session 10K training time trial series for April.  You are welcome to ride as many as you can stand.  All the tedious and knotty details are posted @ Spring 2024 Training Time Trial Series, but, here’re some bullet points:

1)     We’ll use Natural Bridge Road East from the Natural Bridge Monument Park (3.1 miles out-&-back).  We got DEP permission to stage in the park and use the bathrooms and parking lot.

2)     The 1st rider goes off at 2:30 and subsequent riders at 1:00 minute intervals.  We should be done by 4:00-ish, depending on how many folks want to ride.

3)     These rides are limited to CCC members.

4)     Prizes:  Camaraderie and attending a home-made, grassroots friendly competition (priceless!).

But also, several valuable considerations”:  $25 Bike-shop-of-yer-choice gift certificates for “one event fastest time” and “Most improved time, first-race-to-last”, Female/Male (…ride all 4).

So, what do you think?  If it looks like fun to you, please come on out.  Unless there’s significant rain/wind or other such problems, the rides will go on.

I was drinking my milkshake on a cliff and I thought to myself …Wow, this is ledge ‘n dairy.
