Subject: Sunday 3/10, “Special” Ride Suggestion

Howdy, all:

To paraphrase ol’ Mark Twain, any reports of my demise have been greatly exaggerated.  Just like all this pollen, you can’t get rid of me easily.

Hey, the 2024 Senior Games Time Trials are Sunday.  What’s say that a bunch of us show support to the brave souls (…per the list below) who plan to suffer mightily in all-out competition?

Let’s make a semi-leisurely out-&-back ride from  Cascades Park  to the event @ Forest Service Facility-Bloxham Cutoff and cheer/jeer/ring cowbells, as appropriate.  Expect minimal facilities (…should be porta-potties) with seating in the most comfortable grass patches we can find.

Senior Games Spectator Ride (28+ miles) start/finish: Cascades Park 8:30 AM roll-out time*      Remember the time change/move yer clocks forward an hour on Saturday/before bed. (…*competition starts at 10:00.  We need to go out a bit quickly.  As always, Park on S. Gadsden St above the Edison, across the railroad tracks, at the start of the trail.  Please don’t park at the Edison.)

Guys, these games are pretty much the only actual competitive events each year, so don't miss the chance to support folks you know.

Please join in but only if you feel comfortable riding in this current environment (i.e.:  the weather, the traffic, my, or anyone else’s lack of handling skills…).  Please feel free to invite anyone else you'd like to ride with.  Let's be safe and have a fun time, yes?
