The Event
The Capital City Cyclists club is
proud to present the 28th Tour of Springtime Rural Vistas.
Classic TOSRV South tours the rural back roads of North Florida and South
Georgia. As in years past, the ride will take you through several small rural towns, across gently
rolling hills, by picturesque farmlands and pecan groves in the bloom of
springtime. We promise great food and plenty of it, good company, full ride
support including medic and mechanic, and true southern hospitality. Reserve
your space now. The ride is limited to 500 riders to preserve the quality of the
ride. This may be the best two day ride you have ever done.
Terrain and
Mileage
This two
day ride is a tour, not a race. The last leg of the standard century route back
into Havana has some notable hills. The rest of the standard route and the
entire metric route is a mixture of flat terrain and gently rolling hills. Both
the standard and metric centuries have a Saturday night destination of Albany,
Georgia.
Route Options
The Standard Route is 200 miles in
2 days. More experienced riders will like this challenge originating and
finishing in the picturesque town of Havana, Florida. This route is suited for the conditioned rider.
The Metric Route is 140 miles in 2 days, 67 miles the first day and 73 miles the second day.
Intermediate riders will enjoy the ride originating and finishing in Cairo, Georgia.
This is the preferred choice for riders who would not be able to finish
the standard route in time to be off the course by 5:00 p.m.
You can view and print all of the TOSRV 2010 maps and cue sheets here.
Camping
You can bring camping gear, and
we'll carry it for you. Indoor overnight camping accommodations will be available
Saturday at Darton College in Albany. Showers are also available at Darton
College. Camping is not available in Havana or Cairo on Friday night.
However, the following campground is listed by Adventure Cycling as supporting
bicycle tourists with camping, showers, and restrooms: Lakeshore Travel Park, 6401 W. Tennessee
St. (Phone: 850 574 5998).

Registration
You have two options for TOSRV 2010 registration - self-service online and valet service.
Self-service: Register online with active.com.
Valet service: If you prefer, a manual registration form is included in the
TOSRV brochure that will be mailed out in January and distributed to local bike
shops. This manual registration form can also be downloaded here.
Someone will pick up your application and manually enter your data for you. There will be a $5.00 fee for Valet registration service.
Registration closes on Wednesday April 14 2010. TOSRV will not accept walk-on
registration on the day of the ride. Paper/Valet registrations
received after April 15 or without the correct fees will be canceled.
TOSRV South is capped at 500 riders, so don't delay. Registration begins in January, 2010.
Cost
TOSRV South is a bargain. The
registration fee includes pre-breakfast, breakfast, and lunch on both days;
plentiful rest stops; and a t-shirt. The standard and metric centuries

The club bylaws require club membership for participation in all organized events. Special three-day membership at $5.00 is therefore part of the registration fee for non-members.
As an alternative to the weekend membership, you may join Capital City Cyclists
as a full member and register for TOSRV at the club member rate. Click here for a
Capital City Cyclists membership application. You may mail your club membership
application and membership dues with your TOSRV registration form.
